The S2000MT is a fully synthesised communications type receiver. The FM section is a new design, has superior sound quality and RF performance to its predecessor, is now fully synthesised and has RDS with text. It also displays the channel selected and the frequency of the station being received. When the unit is on standby the time is displayed.
The dual conversion AM section covers four short-wave broadcast bands as well as Medium and Long Wave and has an RF performance more normally associated with professional broadcast receivers however particular attention has also been paid to audio quality. This means that not only will the usual AM stations sound extremely good, but that it will be possible to receive numerous other stations from all over the World, (including the BBC World service) with excellent intelligibility. The manual includes instructions on how to construct aerials of different types to improve reception where greater distances are involved. |

| As with all AVI products, the design including programming the microcontroller, is completely "in house". The LED dot matrix display is the usual AVI green and there are eight large alphanumeric segments. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Control is by eight push buttons, care having been taken to ensure that operation is intuitive. Once programmed, the eighty memorised channels are accessible via the AVI universal handset.
The S2000MTII is built like a computer with a mother board into which dedicated receiver boards can be inserted. This means that the unit is upgradeable as new technology appears. As far as we are aware this tuner is unique, there is literally nothing on the market regardless of price that competes with it either in price or performance. |
